Sponsor fiets-/ wandeltocht naar de top van de Alpe d'Huez!!

Voor stichting Ga4Ghana & een weeshuis in Klikor

In 2003 heeft Erzebeth Jorna samen met Laureen Lohman vrijwilligerswerk gedaan in het weeshuis Friends for Orphan Education Society in het dorpje Klikor in Ghana. De vader van Erzebeth (Frans Jorna) heeft vanaf dat moment aandacht geschonken aan dit project door maandelijks het weeshuis te sponsoren.

Op 1 januari jl. was Frans Jorna 40 jaar in overheidsdienst en wil dit jubileum op een bij hem passende, zeer bijzondere wijze vieren. Hij kwam met het idee om een fiets-/wandel-sponsortocht te organiseren voor stichting ga4ghana en het weeshuis waar zijn dochter heeft gewerkt.

Op 12 september 2009 is 30 man vanaf half 10 's ochtends de hele dag bezig geweest om de Alphe d'Huez te beklimmen, zo vaak als ze konden. Velen werden per bocht gesponsord, zo ook Frans Jorna, tot 3x aan toe is hij de berg op gegaan, twee keer fietsend en de laatste keer lopend. Voor veel sponsoren zal dit een verrassing zijn geweest, want in plaats van 21x het sponsor bedrag neer te leggen, moeten ze dit nu 63x doen! Veel van de ploeg hebben de berg twee, drie of zelfs vier keer opgefietst, de sfeer was super, zelfs geemotioneerde mensen die gebroken aan de top kwamen, en het zo fantastisch vonden om te fietsen foor dit goede doel...

In het totaal is er ruim 16.000 euro opgehaald! €8000,- hiervoor voor Stichting Ga4Ghana.

Eenentwintig enthousiaste wielerfanaten, vier wandelaars, twee motoren, twee begeleiders en vier toeschouwers hebben het jubileum mee gevierd en het door Frans uitgekozen doel gesteund. Foto's en verhalen zijn te volgen op www.tourdefrans.hyves.nl

Sponsored bicycle/walking excursion to the top of the Alpe d'Huez!!

For the Ga4Ghana foundation & an orphanage in Klikor

In 2003, Erzebeth Jorna spent time together with Laureen Lohman in the orphanage 'Friends for Orphan Education society' in the village Klikor in Ghana. The father of Erzebeth (Frans Jorna) has continued the good work of Erzebeth by continuing to provide monthly financial support to the orphanage.

To celebrate 40 years of work at the local council Frans decided do a sponsored cycle/walk to raise money for the orphanage, through the Ga4Ghana foundation.

On the 12^th of September 2009 at 9.30am 30 people started the climb to the top of the Alpe d'Huez in France. Many, including Frans, were sponsored for every turn in the road they took going up the mountain. Frans cycled up Alpe d'Huez twice then followed this  feat with a third ascent on foot. Many of the 30 people group did similar feats of endurance in a fantastic atmosphere.

More than 16,000 euro has been collected! €8000, - of this for the Ga4Ghana foundation
